In Fits and Spurts

The phrase “in fits and spurts” comes to mind when I think about my experience of writing this proposal. After periods of inactivity, the words just flow.

Today I finished the first, very rough draft of the sample chapter. There is still a lot of work left, the chapter’s narrative ending being the big task. But the chapter does has a shape.

I also started reworking the introduction today, putting in place some 2,000 words.

The introduction feels better (stronger?) than the sample chapter. I don’t know why. I has a different energy to it.

I need to think about why that might be.
